Helpful Resources While “Sheltering in Place”
It’s a tough time everywhere, and our wonderful Petaluma paradise is among them. With the “Shelter in Place” order issued in all of Sonoma County, it can be hard to find some semblance of normalcy with store, service, restaurant, and school closures. This will serve as a place to gather resources that helped us and our clients get up to moment information and ideas on how to turn the necessary social distancing into productive time! We hope to keep this as up to date as possible, and welcome your finds and suggestions! Please share with us via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) or at peg@pegking.com!
Local Business Information – Restaurants, Services, Beverages
The order issued the closure of all “non-essential” businesses as well as things like wineries, breweries, bars, and entertainment venues. Restaurants are required to be “take-out” or “curbside pickup” only. For the latest info on what restaurant and business are still offering their services, the Petaluma Downtown Association has compiled a great and frequently updated list! It isn’t totally comprehensive, but social media and news stories have helped fill in the gaps.
Forced closures and uncertain timeframes can put a real strain on your business. For the most up to date information on what you can do to lessen the burden, Petaluma Downtown Association has also compiled a list of resources for you. These should help if you have questions about the next steps or the recent pushback of tax payments to July.
The order specifies outdoor activity, such as county parks and beaches, remains open with a suspension of all non-essential services. That also means that parking fees have been waived! Social distancing and CDC personal hygiene should be followed by all guests, but hiking, biking, and nature walks are all on the table. Get out and enjoy spring to the best of your ability!

If you still need Real Estate help…we’re still working hard! We’re taking necessary precautions to keep the virus at bay and away from our team and clients. This can include Facetime or Video Conferencing for meetings that would generally happen in person. We can do a “Virtual Walk-Through” of a home you’re interested in seeing. We are still showing homes and taking listing appointments, as the virus and market volatility hasn’t quite impacted our market yet. Homes are still selling with multiple offers and for over asking!
